ChatGPT, which OpenAI says now sees 900 million weekly users and is generating $2 billion a month in revenue, is now also a place where any US business can buy ads. The new self-serve Ads Manager is in public beta with CPC bidding, a Conversions API and pixel-based tracking; brands can buy directly or through Dentsu, Omnicom, Publicis, WPP, Adobe and Criteo.

Ads appear under conversations, not inside answers, and OpenAI insists they don’t shape the model’s output. Either way, the shift is real: the most-used AI product on the consumer internet is now an ad-supported platform, and that decision will rewire incentives across the whole ChatGPT stack.
